Independent Rust implementation for SSV/DVT infrastructure
Independent implementation alongside the existing Go client

Overview.
Anchor is a Rust implementation of the SSV protocol, the open standard for Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) on Ethereum. DVT splits a single Ethereum validator key across multiple operators using threshold cryptography, so no single operator can sign on behalf of the validator.
The protocol is run by SSV.Network and supported by Lido, EtherFi, and other staking protocols building toward more decentralised operator sets.
Anchor brings client diversity to the SSV ecosystem. Until Anchor, the protocol had a single production client. A second independent implementation reduces single-implementation risk and improves long-term resilience, the same argument that drove the multi-client Ethereum consensus model.
Why we built it.
The same logic that makes consensus client diversity important on Ethereum applies to DVT. A bug in a single dominant client can take down a meaningful portion of the validator set. We had the Rust expertise from Lighthouse and the relationships with the staking protocols where DVT matters. Anchor was a natural extension.
Status.
Anchor is in production as an independent Rust implementation for distributed validator infrastructure. The project continues to improve client diversity and operational resilience across SSV/DVT deployments.
How it informs audits.
Building a DVT client deepens our staking-infrastructure audit capability. Threshold cryptography, signature aggregation, peer coordination, and distributed slashing protection all show up in DVT-related audits. They are easier to review when the auditor has implemented the protocol from the inside.

Blockchain Protocol Audits
A blockchain protocol audit reviews the consensus, networking, execution, bridge, and sequencing layers of an L1 or L2 blockchain, not just the smart contracts that run on top.
